Buddha Bean

45 days back in the states. 8.11111111111forever or 9/73 of 365 days of the year I've been back. (Check that, I have bad math skillz). 45 days and I can't say that I didn't need every one of them to re-adjust. Only 107 days in Africa. 3.411215 or 107/365 days gone. Yet, 137 malaria pills later, I'm a different person. My ear perks up every time I hear someone mention the word "Africa". Like I said, in only 107 of the 8,036 days I've been alive, Senegal still changed me.

Well, in these 45 days back, I went back "home", went to Canada, went snowboarding twice (snow!), and realized that I feel more at home in Syracuse with Steve and my cat than on my mom's living room floor. Beancat is such a character. I get so much enjoyment waving around his feather sparkley streamer wand toy and watching him do back flips, panting with his fangs out, tongue floppy like a dog, and crashing into furniture.

On my birthday, some mean kid with an ugly mustache smashed Buddhahead into the fireplace. What an ass! I tried to kick him out and did the can-can in close proximity to his balls but he refused to leave without his jacket which, as I found out later, mysteriously found its way tossed into a yard on Euclid. Now only one Buddhahead remains, and I can't say yet if our Ch'i will ever flow the same. Our coffee table aesthetic is completely changed!

2008 will be a good year though, so far so good. Except hopefully I will be employed somewhere sometime soon so that I have money to live.
